New Cedros Mural Sends Strong Message Against Gender-Based Violence

A colourful new mural in Cedros is sending a powerful message about ending gender-based violence, and the community is rallying behind it.

The Cedros Mural Activism Project titled “Breaking the Walls of Digital Gender-Based Violence” was officially unveiled on Tuesday by Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit.

Standing alongside Senator Dr. Natalie Chaitan-Maharaj, community leaders, and local residents, Minister Mohit highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to protecting women and girls, both in real life and online.

Launched on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the vibrant mural marks the start of the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. More than just art, the project is a symbol of awareness, unity, and action, encouraging the community to stand together and speak out against violence in all its forms.
