Chief Secretary Farley Augustine will select a Councillor or an elected Member of the House to become the new Secretary of Community Development, Youth Development and Sport for the remainder of this Tobago House of Assembly administration’s term.
According to Mr. Augustine, this is necessary as the newly elected Member of Parliament for Tobago West, Joel Sampson, is expected to resign from his portfolio as Secretary of Community Development, Youth Development and Sport on Thursday, ahead of his swearing-in to his new office.
The Tobago People’s Party (TPP) won the two Tobago seats, with David Thomas receiving 7,144 votes, while Mr. Sampson gained 6,713 votes.
