The cost to redesign Trinidad and Tobago’s Coat of Arms to include the steelpan has not yet been received by the Government.
In August, the Prime Minister announced that designer Gillian Bishop had been tasked with redesigning the Coat of Arms to replace the Columbus Ships with the steelpan.
Responding to a Question in the House of Representatives on Friday, the Prime Minister could not give a definite date for delivery, but said the project would be completed soon.
The Prime Minister said the project was done in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act. He described Ms. Bishop as one of the masters of her art form who the Government had no difficulty in assigning the project.
