The north south classic continued at the national Cricket Centre in Balmain couva under perfect conditions for cricket with North putting themselves in the lead.
North resumed their overnight total of 47 without loss with Keegan Simmons and Vikash Mohan continuing where they left of. Simmons was eventually dismissed for 34 and that began a period of play that swung in south’s favour. North lost Jeremy Solozano and captain Darren Bravo in quick time. However, Vikash Mohan continued his vigil at the crease, getting the top score of 45 for north up until the tea interval. Bryan Charles was the chief destroyer bagging 6 wickets while Imran Khan took 4. North was dismissed for 207 with a lead of 66 runs.
When south began their second innings on a low and slow Balmain pitch, runs were difficult to come by. North claimed four wickets to put them in charge at stumps on day two. South will need to come good as they go overnight on 53 for 4 with Cephas Cooper top scoring thus far with 23 and still trail by 13 runs.
