One man was arrested and a firearm and quantities of ammunition seized during anti-crime exercises conducted in the Northern and Central Divisions yesterday.
In the first incident, officers of the Arima Intel/Operations Unit, conducted an exercise in the Arima district between 8pm and midnight on Monday September 1st, 2025.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to a bushy area at Cleaver Heights, where they found one firearm and two magazines hidden in a plastic bag.
The exercise was coordinated by ACP Simon, W/Snr. Supt. Maynard-Wilson, Supt. Etienne, ASP Pitt, ASP Ablacksingh, ASP Jones and Insp. Estrada.
Meanwhile, in the Central Division, Task Force officers conducted an exercise between 10pm on Monday and 3:30am on Tuesday in Area South.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to Carolina Village, Couva, where they arrested one man for possession of a quantity of ammunition.
The exercise was coordinated by Supt. Fitzworme, ASP Reyes, ASP Hernandez and Insp. Francis.
Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
