On Thursday, August 13, 2026, between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) conducted a series of intelligence-led operations within the Scarborough Police Station District as part of Operation RESOLUTE SHIELD — “Securing Tobago.”
The coordinated operations resulted in seven persons being arrested, the seizure of approximately 7.42 kilograms of cannabis, the seizure of an extended firearm magazine, and the recovery of nine sheep believed to be connected to reports of livestock larceny.
At an apartment building located at Friendsfield, in the vicinity of the Claude Noel Highway, officers acted on intelligence concerning an illegal firearm and ammunition and conducted a search of the premises. During the exercise, officers discovered nine rectangular packages, two transparent plastic bags and one white plastic bag containing cannabis. The drug was weighed and amounted to 7.08 kilograms and was seized. Two persons were arrested and are assisting with enquiries.
In a separate exercise at Andrews Trace, Rockley Vale, officers conducted a search which resulted in the seizure of an extended magazine. Two persons were arrested and enquiries are continuing.
At Bagatelle Court, Morne Quitton, officers discovered cannabis being cultivated under UV lights inside a house, along with a quantity of undried cannabis. The drug weighed approximately 113 grams. One person was arrested in connection with the exercise.
Meanwhile, during an anti-crime operation in a bushy area along Les Coteau Road, Mason Hall, officers recovered nine sheep in connection with reports of larceny of livestock within the Roxborough Police District. Enquiries are continuing.
At Sangsters Hill, Scarborough, officers conducting an anti-crime operation discovered a transparent plastic bag containing cannabis, which was contained within a white plastic bag. The drug weighed 228.5 grams.
The operations were strategically directed by ACP Singh and Snr. Supt. Kirk and spearheaded by A.S.P. Ag. Area West/Operations Bacchus, Insp. Mohammed and Ag. Insp. Stewart, with coordination by Sgt. Hernandez and W/Ag. Sgt. Gordon-Harris, and supervision by Cpl. Guy, W/Cpl. Alleyne-Pantin, W/Cpl. Alfred and Ag. Cpl. Reid.
The exercises were conducted by officers attached to the Tobago Divisional Task Force, with support from the Gang and Intelligence Unit, Guard and Emergency Branch/Inter-Agency Task Force, Criminal Records Office and Canine Unit.
