Opposition Told To Stop Chasing Away Potential Investors

A call for the Opposition to desist from driving away potential investors to Trinidad and Tobago was made on Friday by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Randall Mitchell.

The Minister was responding to a matter on the adjournment for Government to provide an update on the sale of the Point-a-Pierre Refinery in the Upper House.

Opposition Senator Wade Mark questioned Government on Indian industrialist Naveen Jindal’s interest in the Petrotrin Refinery – as they allege that he is facing charges in India.

On June 26th, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley defended Mr. Jindal’s visit to this country. While addressing a Breakfast with the Prime Minister event at the Hyatt Regency, he said there seems to be an attempt to dissuade foreigners from investing in Trinidad and Tobago.
