The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs on Wednesday distributed over $1.5 million in funding to a diverse group of individuals and organisations during a cheque distribution ceremony held at its office in Nicholas Towers.
A total of fifteen recipients, made up of athletes, national sporting organisations, youth-focused NGOs, and community leaders, received cheques valued at $1,585,000 to aid in the execution of their upcoming initiatives, which include preparations for international competitions, youth leadership programmes, and community-based sporting projects.
The Ministry reiterated that it sees such investments as essential to national progress, noting that sport and youth development are powerful tools for building pride, unity, and resilience.
This latest round of funding underscores the Government’s ongoing drive to cultivate excellence in sport and to create opportunities for youth to thrive in positive, structured environments.
