Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC used Easter Sunday at La Divina Pastora RC Church, to frame Siparia as a national example of faith, unity and renewal.
Sunil Lalla has the details.
On one of the holiest days in the Christian calendar, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar returned to La Divina Pastora in Siparia, not only as head of the Government, but as someone who grew up worshipping there.
The Prime Minister described Siparia as a living example of how different faiths coexist, especially during the annual pilgrimage to the shrine.
She said that spirit of inclusion is most powerful during Easter, when thousands also visit the Church.
The Prime Minister also called on citizens to draw inspiration from Siparia’s example.
The Prime Minister ended with a prayer for families, for healing, and for renewed faith in one another, saying that Siparia continues to reflect the best of Trinidad and Tobago.
