India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, arrived on Thursday afternoon on his first visit to the shores of T&T.
He was greeted at the South Terminal of Piarco International Airport by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, along with several Government MPs and Ministers.
This is the second leg of PM Modi’s five-nation visit, having already visited Ghana over the past few days.
After the T&T visit, he will then visit Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia.
PM Modi’s visit marks the first prime ministerial bilateral visit from India to T&T since 2009, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
