PM Persad-Bissessar Congratulates Jamaica’s Andrew Holness On Historic Election Win

Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, has extended congratulations to Jamaica’s Prime Minister-Designate, Andrew Holness, following his party’s victory at the polls, in which they secured a historic third consecutive term in office.

In a statement, Mrs. Persad-Bissessar praised Mr. Holness’s re-election as a significant moment for the Jamaican people and the wider Caribbean.

“This decisive and overwhelming victory is a true testament to the confidence and trust the people of Jamaica placed in your leadership once more and of your dedication to serving your nation with boundless faith to make the lives of all Jamaicans more prosperous and progressive, considering the many challenges we face globally.”

Highlighting the strong and enduring ties between the two Caribbean nations, Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar reaffirmed Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to deepening collaboration with Jamaica on key areas such as economic cooperation, regional security, and international diplomacy.

“Trinidad and Tobago values the long-standing bilateral relationship with Jamaica and the important role both our countries play within CARICOM in advancing regional priorities. My government remains committed to continued collaboration with Jamaica on matters of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, regional security, and international representation.”

She concluded her message by welcoming Mr. Holness back to the circle of CARICOM leaders and wished him and his administration every success in the coming term.

“Honourable Prime Minister-designate, I am truly proud to welcome you back to the fold of leaders within the CARICOM community, and I wish you and your government all the best.”
