Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar extended greetings to India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, through a video message on the occasion of his birthday on Wednesday.
In her message, she highlighted the friendship between the two nations: “Trinidad and Tobago enjoy warm and cordial relations based on deep-rooted people-to-people ties for centuries. We wish to congratulate Prime Minister Modi on his birthday, September 17th. Again, we thank him for paying a very historic visit to Trinidad and Tobago recently. We were glad to confer upon him the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, our highest national award, for his contributions to the development of Trinidad and Tobago and for his service to the region and the wider international community.”
Prime Minister Modi responded, thanking Mrs. Persad-Bissessar and expressing his hope that the age-old relations between India and Trinidad and Tobago would continue to flourish in the years ahead.
Prime Minister Modi celebrated his 75th birthday on Wednesday.
