PNM Women’s League Marks International Women’s Day In Caroni Central

Unity was the main aim of a PNM Women’s League meeting in the Caroni Central constituency.

The League is working to bring together the women of the constituency as they prepare for this year’s upcoming General Election.

The meeting at the PNM Central Regional Office in Chaguanas also commemorated International Women’s Day with the theme, ‘She Leads, Igniting Change, Inspiring Action.’

PNM Prospective Candidate for Caroni Central, Adam Hosein, recognised the three most important women in his life.

“At the very core of my journey are three extraordinary women: my mother, my wife, and my daughter. Their influence is woven into every success and every lesson I cherish. My beloved mother, Mrs. Dilki Hosein, is a cornerstone of my life.”

And labour stalwart and Constituency Coordinator Jennifer Baptiste-Primus recalled her early days trying to get into the labour movement as a female. She had these words of inspiration for the women in the gathering:

“Do not be afraid to dream and to dream big. Never be afraid to dream. Don’t share your dreams with anyone because there will always be someone out there who will tell you, ‘Girl, you going after that?’ and all the negativity, which could shatter your dream. But in building your dream, your dream begins in your heart. Your dream begins in your heart. You have to ensure that you prepare yourself for leadership. You have to be prepared to make sacrifices.”
