The Police Credit Union (PCU) is celebrating the introduction of the ‘Youth Academy’ – a new financial tool on the Trinidad and Tobago market for young people aged 25 and under.
On Thursday, the PCU unveiled the new product, which is aimed at offering financial guidance, opportunities, and training for youngsters.
Feature speaker at the event, soca artiste Jesse ‘College Boy’ Stewart, applauded the credit union for the initiative.
“I believe this Youth Academy is providing a tool to support your dreams. So focus on Plan A because Plan B is a plan to fail Plan A.”
He urged young people at the event to continue investing in themselves.
“Police Credit Union is giving you more than information. They’re giving you access. Access to financial tools, life skills, and mentorship. What do you do with that access? It’s up to you.”
Meanwhile, the PCU’s Senior Business Development Officer, Rae Anne Moore-Agard, shared some key aspects of ‘Youth Academy.’
“Professional on-the-job training, mentorship and leadership opportunities and that is very important to us, and special thanks again to the Board of Directors for all their contributions and input, now and moving forward. Future savings products, because of course we want them to build for the future.”
Mrs. Moore-Agard added that, in addition to savings accounts, life skills training, and internship programmes, the new product would offer networking and investment opportunities for its members.
