Police Seize Two Firearms, Ammo

Police officers seized two firearms and several rounds of ammunition during operations conducted in the Western and South Western Divisions.

In an early morning exercise between 12am and 3am today, officers of the Western Division Task Force conducted an intelligence-led operation. During the exercise, a warrant was executed at a residence on Upper Quarry Street, Diego Martin. While nothing was found inside the house, officers also searched an open lot of land located to the north of the residence. There, under a mango tree, they discovered a brown and black firearm fitted with a magazine containing six rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The items were seized and taken to the St. James Police Station.

Meanwhile, in the South Western Division, between 2pm and 4pm on July 16th, 2025, a team of officers from the Point Fortin Criminal Investigations Department, Point Fortin Charge Room, and K9 Unit acted on information received and proceeded to a bushy area off Pangola Street, Point Fortin. During an extensive search, the officers discovered one black and silver pistol fitted with a magazine containing one round of .38 ammunition. The weapon was found in a black and white bag.

The firearm and ammunition were seized and taken to the Point Fortin Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing into both incidents.
