President Calls For Peace And Goodwill To Become “Lived Reality” This Christmas

In her Christmas message to the nation, Her Excellency President Christine Kangaloo O.R.T.T. has urged citizens to transform the ideals of peace and goodwill from cherished concepts into daily practice, emphasizing the importance of family and shared humanity during the festive season.

Reflecting on one of the central themes of Christmas, the President drew attention to the nativity story, noting that Jesus was born surrounded by His mother Mary and earthly father Joseph, bound together by familial love.

“This Christmas, as we reflect on the central themes of Christmas, we are invited to pause and remember what truly binds us together as one human family,” the President said in her address.

Calling on citizens to gather with family and friends this Christmas, the President urged the nation to renew their commitment to peace—within themselves, with one another, and in the wider world.

She encouraged opening hearts not only to loved ones but also to strangers, the lonely, and the forgotten.

“My wish this Christmas is that we do not relegate the message of peace on earth and goodwill to merely a cherished ideal, but that we elevate it into a lived reality, shaping our choices and inspiring us to be instruments of peace and of goodwill wherever we are,” the President declared.

The President expressed her hope that through the practice of peace and goodwill, citizens would bring hope to the weary, comfort to the suffering, and unity to communities.

She prayed that the nation would recommit to being bearers of peace in homes, workplaces, and society, and that the light of goodwill would shine brighter than darkness.

“I pray that peace and goodwill will guide our actions, enliven our spirits and lift up our hearts, long after the season has passed,” she concluded.
