Dr. Randy Seepersad, a leading criminologist from the Criminology Unit at the University of the West Indies (U.W.I.), joins us this morning to speak on Prevention and Intervention Strategies for Youth Gang Violence.
Dr. Seepersad outlined the complex nature of gangs, shedding light on what they are, why they form, and the reasons young people may be drawn into them. He stressed the importance of early intervention, community involvement, and access to education and employment opportunities as key strategies in preventing gang involvement.
