Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar Returns From US Visit: “We’ve Done Very Well For T&T”

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, has returned to Trinidad and Tobago following her trip to the United States, where she attended the United Nations General Assembly and participated in several important bilateral meetings.

Speaking upon her return on Wednesday night, the Prime Minister described the trip as a success and praised her delegation for representing Trinidad and Tobago “brilliantly.”

She noted that the outcomes of her discussions will be made public in the coming days.

“We came back with many big wins for T&T, and in the coming days, we will roll out some of these goodies that we brought back. But big wins, I think. We’ve done very well. So, thanks to the team, and thanks to all of you in T&T. I’m so happy to be home.”

Among the significant achievements of the Prime Minister’s US visit was securing American support for developing Trinidad and Tobago’s cross-border hydrocarbon resources. This follows high-level discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister also extended her thanks to Acting Prime Minister Jearlean John and other members of the Cabinet for overseeing the affairs of government during her overseas visit.
