The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising the public of a recall of all Priority Bus Route (PBR) Letter Permits numbered 0001 to 0645. These permits will be deemed invalid as of July 1st, 2025, according to the Ministry.
The Ministry has stated that the recall is part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency, compliance, and overall efficiency within the PBR permit system.
Permit holders are being encouraged to return their PBR Letter Permits to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, either in person or via a recognised courier service.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar at a post-Cabinet media briefing on May 22 expressed concern that PBR “letter passes” issued under the direction of the former minister were not given out for official services like police, fire and ambulance.
Anyone wishing to reapply or obtain a PBR Letter Permit must submit a new application document, addressed to The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, by hand delivery or email.
