Quarter Million Self Help Project For Morvant

More than three hundred residents in Second Caledonia, Morvant will benefit from a self help project to improve a road in the community.

Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport and Community Development, Florette Clarke said the more than quarter of a million dollar road upgrade in the second Caledonia, Morvant area will improve traffic flow and accessibility for emergency services.

“This project is scheduled for completion by April 2025 and as we look forward to reaching several key milestones along the way, today’s sod turning marks the official start of construction.”

The deputy PS said in addition to the community’s more than three hundred residents, the project would benefit the commuters who pass through the area.

“As we stand here today, the two hundred and sixty eight thousand, four hundred and ten dollars and twenty nine cents invested in this project represents far more than just monetary sum. Since the start of the start of the fiscal year, the Commission successfully handed over twelve projects valued at over two million dollars.”

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Laventille East/Morvant, Adrian Leonce said government will put a retaining wall to address a landslip in the area.

“We want to continue this work. We want to continue the drainage have a lot of work planned for personal intervention where it comes to persons with their housing, you know, and we’re really striving to build the infrastructure.”

The aim of this project is to provide access and to eliminate flooding for the residents of Bruno Road, Cipriani Boulevard, Second Caledonia, Morvant.
