The Jamaica Men’s Football Team, the Reggae Boyz, kept their World Cup dream alive with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over New Caledonia in the FIFA World Cup intercontinental play-off semi-final on Thursday in Mexico.
Striker Bailey Cadamarteri struck in the 18th minute to give Jamaica the lead, and despite late pressure from New Caledonia, goalkeeper Andre Blake produced a crucial save in the 88th minute to preserve the clean sheet.
The result means Jamaica advances to the play-off final against DR Congo, with a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the line.
It marks another step in Jamaica’s bid to return to the global stage for the first time since their historic appearance at France 1998 World Cup.
