Regional Security Consultant Dr. Garvin Heerah Calls For Continued Action After State Of Emergency

The end of the State of Emergency on January 31st has become a major topic of public interest.

Regional Security Consultant Dr. Garvin Heerah says that while the measure proved effective, further action is needed to preserve and build on its positive outcomes.

He said that lessons learned during the State of Emergency have helped shape clear goals aimed at ensuring effective short, medium and long-term planning. These insights, he noted, will guide the development of strategies designed to strengthen preparedness, improve coordination, and support more sustainable decision-making moving forward.

Dr. Heerah said that as the country advances, strengthening the court-related aspects of the gains achieved during the State of Emergency will be critical in managing the aftermath of the SOE period. He noted that reinforcing these areas will help ensure continuity, accountability, and sustained progress beyond the SOE.
