A San Fernando man was granted bail with surety in the sum of $150,000, when he appeared before a Master of the High Court today, charged with four counts of Forgery.
Visham Ramdhanie, 41, was charged with two counts of Possession of a Forged Document and two counts of Uttering a Forged Document, when he appeared before Master Rehanna Hosein in the Tunapuna Master’s Court on Monday 29th September, 2025.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges, was granted bail and ordered to report to the San Fernando Police Station once a week between 6am and 6pm.
The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for March 5th, 2026.
Reports indicate that personnel of the Transport Division were performing patrol duties along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway on October 24th, 2024, when they stopped a vehicle with an alleged irregular tint and which was also allegedly outfitted with light bars to the front of the vehicle.
The driver is alleged to have produced documents purporting to have been issued by the Licensing Division authorising the use of the said lights and tint.
Subsequent checks revealed that the documents were fraudulent.
An exercise conducted by officers of the Fraud Squad in the Southern Division, on Thursday 25th September, 2025, resulted in the arrest of one male suspect, in connection with the matter.
Investigations were conducted under the strategic control of DCP ‘Intelligence and Investigations’, Natasha George, ACP ‘White Collar Crime Division’, Denis Knutt, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Michael Jackman, Supt. Arnold Lutchman, Insp. Francis and Sgt. Bassarath, and executed by Sgt. Toney and Cpl Dubois.
Ramdhanie was charged with the offences by PC Khan of the Fraud Squad, Port of Spain Office.
