Second US Strike On Venezuelan Vessel Leaves Three Dead

The US military has conducted a second direct hit in international waters off Venezuela, killing three men on a vessel allegedly transporting narcotics from Venezuela.

President Donald Trump confirmed the operation in a Truth Social post, saying he ordered it against what he called violent drug cartels. He added that no American forces were harmed.

The action comes less than two weeks after another US strike killed 11 people said to be linked to Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang. US officials have released limited details, but Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth insisted Washington has full authority to act.

The strikes come as the US increases its military presence in the region.

In response to the first strike on September 2nd, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said she welcomed the US naval deployment, noting it was fulfilling its mission against drug cartels.
