Tobago House of Assembly Secretary of Tourism, Zorisha Hackett, has welcomed the introduction of the online arrival/departure platform recently launched by the Ministry of Homeland Security.
Speaking with TTT News following an event on Monday, Ms. Hackett said it is long overdue.
“Right here in the Caribbean, we have islands having these arrival and departure forms online, and I always wondered why Trinidad and Tobago was not very much up to date with what is happening in the global space, and when you are on vacation or you’re on a business trip, you don’t want to be bogged down with working on actual paper, and so the technology has always always there and so I welcome this. It’s going to save us some time and some effort.”
Ms. Hackett said this system will also benefit the island’s tourism industry.
“Much welcomed. It is going to enhance our tourism product as well. It’s showing we are very much in tune with what’s happening with technology, and so as a Division, we welcome it.”
