Security Guard Appears In Court For Woman’s Murder

A 21-year-old security guard has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Savanna Dyer, which occurred on June 14th, 2025.

Kibwe Wells, of East Dry River, Port of Spain, was charged with the offence, when he appeared before Master Whitney Franklyn, in the North Court ‘C’, on Monday 23rd June, 2025.

The Sufficiency Hearing date has been set for February 2nd, 2026.

Dyer, 20, a clerk, of River Estate Road, Diego Martin, was found dead along Carlsen Field Road, Freeport, on Saturday 14th June, 2025.

One male suspect was arrested on June 17th, 2025, in connection with the matter.

Investigations were spearheaded by Supt. Steve Persad and supervised by Sgt. Donny Bridgemohan, both of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three.

Wells was charged with the murder on June 21st, 2025, by PC Shawn Lall, also of HBI Region Three, following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on that same date.
