The newly commissioned $500 million Elmina Clarke-Allen Highway, connecting Cumuto to Sangre Grande, is already experiencing issues.
Confirmation came via a media release from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, which indicated that a 40-metre slope slippage had occurred on the westbound lane of the Connector Road.
On Wednesday, the Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Jearlean John, visited the site with senior officials from the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) and technical officials from the Ministry.
The Ministry said they are currently engaged in stabilising the affected area.
They also advised that the roadway remains safe for public use and that traffic flow is unaffected.
