There was some good news for Trinidad and Tobago at the 2025 Pan American Games in Paraguay on Tuesday.
Sprinter Shaniqua Bascombe captured T&T’s first gold medal of the Games when she won the 100-metre dash final.
Her victory also secured her qualification for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
