The Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago has announced a list of VAT-exempt items which will take effect come November 1st.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Supermarket Association said those items are biscuits, cooking oil, canned vegetables, cornflakes, canned fish and meat, curry, juice, sausages and ham, ketchup, bottled water and pigtail.
SATT reminded however there are a number of items that are already zero-rated. Those are corned beef, curry, sardines and smoked herring.
And effective Monday October 4th, a number of items are now VAT-rated. Among those items are tenderloin, sirloin, salmon, trout, shrimp and prawns.
