The shipping and logistics sectors have been given a new platform to network and showcase their services.
At the launch of the Supply Chain and Logistics Expo 2025 at the Couva/Pt. Lisas Chamber of Commerce, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), Keino Cox, explained why the Expo is being hailed as a historic occasion.
“It’s the first time I have seen a conference of this size and stature where supply chain professionals in the country can come together in a real way, share meaningful dialogue, and really get to the heart of what truly matters — how the supply chain carries itself to different levels in organisations. I am very proud that at TSTT we took that stand several years ago when we reorganised the supply chain.”
One of the senior representatives of Supply Chain Hub, Kadisha Munroe, highlighted the significance of the sector.
“Create that sort of economic stimulation for service providers within the supply chain space and, by extension, spotlight the discipline and the importance that it plays across all the varying sectors and industries.”
Mr. Cox, noting that his background is in the procurement sector, shared some of the strides TSTT is making by tweaking its logistics and supply departments.
“Dive deep into what is the heart of what a supply chain needs to carry forward in an organisation. So much so that our supply chain team, in collaboration with our IT, cybersecurity, and a host of support services, created this wonderful programme you see now — E-tender — which today, I am very proud to say, powers the entire island of Tobago. All 24 THA Divisions and State companies utilise this software to modify and advance their supply chains.”
The Supply Chain and Logistics Expo 2025 ends on Saturday.
