Police say a suspect has been detained as they continue to investigate a gruesome double murder in New Grant.
A brother and sister, 21 year old Keston Singh and 17 year old Shenelle Singh, were discovered brutally chopped to death along Nagee Road, Hindustan, New Grant on Wednesday night.
Reports state that Shenelle had gone to visit her brother as she had no school.
Around 7pm, police received an anonymous call of a woman lying motionless at Nagee Road. Investigations led to the discovery of the teen lying on her stomach with chop wounds to her face.
Her brother was also found slumped over a couch with chop wounds to the neck.
Shenelle was a student of Mayaro Secondary School in Form 5, while her bother worked as a Security Guard.
