A suspended Police officer has been arrested after allegedly Kidnapping and Sexual assaulting a 20-year-old woman.
According to police, on June 3rd, the victim was forcibly removed from a vehicle by a man who identified himself as a police officer, displaying what appeared to be a TTPS Identification Badge.
The victim alleged that she was then taken to an unknown location where she was sexually assaulted.
A report was made to the Chaguanas Police Station and on June 20th, a 39-year-old officer who is currently under suspension, was arrested in connection with the incident.
In unrelated news, police in San Fernando with the assistance of Immigration personnel and officers of the Canine Unit, went to two apartments at Cooper Street, between 10 am and 3 pm, on Saturday.
There, they found and detained 15 Venezuelan nationals who were discovered to be in the country illegally.
