Tameika Darius Crowned 2026 National Calypso Queen

After a night of powerful storytelling, vocal excellence and true calypso artistry, the National Women’s Action Committee crowned the winners of the National Calypso Queen Competition 2026.

The 42nd National Calypso Queen Competition, held at the Queen’s Hall auditorium in St Ann’s on Sunday, showcased a talented line-up of past and present National Calypso Queens vying for the title.

After careful deliberation, three of the sixteen contestants came out on top. However, only one was named the winner of the 2026 competition.

Championing this year’s contest was Tameika Darius, performing ‘No Love.’ The second-place winner, Naomi Sinnette, delivered a powerful performance titled ‘Talking Drums,’ highlighting the traditional way African tribes once communicated through rhythm.

Earning the title of third-place winner was Kerine Williams-Figaro for her powerful portrayal of the struggles and resilience experienced through womanhood in a performance called ‘You Never Know.’

The Committee continues to affirm its commitment to the artform, the competition and, most importantly, to the women who are the living expression of vision, resilience, and purpose.
