Ten Finalists Advance To Tobago Heritage Festival Calypso Monarch 2026 Finals

The Tobago Festivals Commission Limited (TFCL) has announced the ten finalists who will compete in the Tobago Heritage Festival Calypso Monarch 2026, one of the signature events of the Tobago Heritage Festival.

Following auditions held on Saturday, 4th July 2026, at the Shaw Park Complex, ten outstanding calypsonians earned their place in the Grand Finals after impressing the adjudication panel with original compositions inspired by the 2026 Tobago Heritage Festival theme, “Leh We Tell De Whole Story.” Auditions were conducted as an open call, with participants required to perform two verses and one chorus of an original calypso aligned with this year’s festival theme.

This year’s finalists are:

● Dalanie Baynes
● J’Leise Orr
● Shervell Williams
● Shamika Denoon
● Dionne Phillip
● Crystal Sergeant Carter
● Rholda John
● Giselle Fraser
● Zari Kerr
● Marina Marfan

Unlike previous years, the competition will not feature a returning reigning monarch, as 2025 Tobago Heritage Festival Calypso Monarch Garvé Sandy opted not to defend the title. As a result, all ten finalists secured their places through the audition process and will compete for the coveted crown.

At the Grand Finals, contestants will perform two selections. In addition to presenting the original composition performed during the auditions, finalists will also compete in Old Brigade: Tribute to Lord Nelson, a special segment honouring one of Tobago’s most celebrated calypsonians. Each contestant will perform a Lord Nelson classic assigned through an official draw during the contestant orientation, celebrating the enduring legacy of Tobago’s rich Kaiso tradition while preserving the spirit and authenticity of the original works.

The Tobago Festivals Commission Limited congratulates all finalists on reaching this stage of the competition and commends every participant who auditioned. Their creativity, passion and commitment continue to strengthen Tobago’s vibrant calypso tradition and ensure that our stories are preserved through music for generations to come.

The Tobago Heritage Festival Calypso Monarch 2026 takes place on Saturday, 25th July 2026, from 8:00 p.m. in Plymouth. Admission is TT$100 for adults and TT$50 for children ages 6–17. Children under five years and senior citizens (over 60) will enjoy free entry.

The public is encouraged to attend and support these talented performers as they compete for the prestigious Tobago Heritage Festival Calypso Monarch title.
