Three Arrested, Three Firearms, Ammo, Narcotics Seized

Three persons were arrested, and three firearms, varying quantities of ammunition, and narcotics were seized by police during anti-crime operations conducted in the Southern, Western, and North Eastern Divisions over the past 24 hours.

According to reports, around 5:05am, during an anti-crime exercise in the Southern Division, PC Ferguson received information that led him to an address on Valley Road, Claxton Bay. Upon arrival, he observed a silver B15 vehicle with two occupants parked in the driveway.

The officer approached, identified himself, and informed the individuals of the intelligence received and his intention to conduct a search of the vehicle under Section 12(a) of the Emergency Powers Regulation 241 of 2025. During the search, he found a silver revolver and four rounds of .38 ammunition. Both occupants—a 24-year-old male and an 18-year-old female from Valley Road—were arrested, and the firearm and ammunition were seized.

Also in the Southern Division, on Sunday 3rd August, officers of the Ste. Madeline Police Station and the K9 Unit conducted an anti-crime exercise in the Ste. Madeline Police District. During a search of a busy area along M1 Taska Road, officers discovered five rounds of 5.56 calibre ammunition, a quantity of cannabis, and a police patch inside an abandoned shed. The items were seized, and investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, in the Western Division, between 10am and 4pm, officers of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF) conducted an intelligence-led exercise. Acting on information, they proceeded to an open lot on Marcelle Circular, Big Yard, Carenage, where they found and seized a black plastic bag containing a revolver.

In a separate operation that same day, WDTF officers conducted a surveillance exercise in the vicinity of Onyx Street, Diamond Vale. They targeted a 30-year-old suspect linked to several firearm-related offences that occurred on 1st August, 2025. The suspect was observed entering multiple premises near his residence. Officers cordoned off the area and effected a successful arrest. The suspect was taken to the St. James Police Station.

Also on 3rd August, in the North Eastern Division, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) executed an intelligence-driven operation in the El Socorro area. Upon reaching Coronation Street, they searched several persons at an auto shop. While nothing illegal was found on the individuals, officers continued a detailed search of the surrounding area. During the search of a nearby drain, they discovered a black and brown revolver loaded with six rounds of .38 ammunition. The weapon was seized, and investigations are continuing.
