For another year, Jaheim “Verrse” Thomas has claimed the Soca Titans crown.
The competition was fierce on Wednesday at Market Square in Tobago, as ten of the island’s top Soca artistes brought maximum energy, all vying for the $75,000 cash prize and the coveted Soca Titan title.
But none could match “Verrse,” who earned 415 points, securing the title for a second consecutive year with his hit, “Paradise.”
Newcomer Kedane O’Connor also impressed the crowd, performing “Shake It” with high energy and audience interaction. Performing on a pirogue that moved through the crowd, he narrowly missed first place, earning 413 points and taking home $50,000.
Another fan favourite, Bernardo “Tam Tam” Thompson, earned 399 points. His performance of “Lean” secured him third place and a $30,000 cash prize.
Finalists also benefited from vocal and interview training as part of their preparations for Wednesday’s competition, adding polish to their high-energy performances.
