Tobago Carnival Gets Boost With Over 3,000 Added Air Bridge Seats

The call by the Tobago House of Assembly and the Tobago October Carnival Association for Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) to add seats to the air bridge for this weekend’s Tobago Carnival has been heard.

Speaking to the media following an event on Tuesday, THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine said he wrote to the Government on the matter last month and followed up intensely on the situation.

“I must say thanks to Minister Tancoo and the Board and Caribbean Airlines but 3,000-plus seats have in fact been added. They are already on the system, and I know bandleaders like Mr. Sandy and others have been able to secure seats for their masqueraders.”

Chief Secretary Augustine thanked the Government and CAL for their efforts. He noted that there are calls for increased seats to be considered year-round.

“I’ve also asked that they work early in 2026 so that throughout the year when there are high traffic periods it shouldn’t be every time there is a high traffic period the Chief Sec must write or call somebody. I want them to work it out for the entire year. We know we have a high traffic season in Easter, we plan and put on the flights beforehand. We know we have a high traffic season for Tobago Carnival in October, it’s done before. We know we have a high traffic period between July/August it’s done before.”
