Three men are facing fines after pleading guilty to stealing cows in Tobago.

Andell Scotland, 32, Sterlon Patterson, 34, and Jerome Homeward, 32, who all live in Scarborough, pleaded guilty to the offence of larceny cattle on Tuesday.

Police say at approximately 1:20am on Friday, May 8th, 2026, Tobago CID officers were conducting mobile patrols along Bacolet Gardens, Scarborough, when they saw a car stop, reverse, and speed away.

Officers gave chase and intercepted the car a short distance away with three male occupants.
They searched the car and found two calves in the trunk.

The men were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for their possession of the animals and were arrested and taken to the Scarborough Police Station.

Later that day, a man reported the theft of two cows from his property and subsequently identified the animals found in the trunk as his.

The men appeared before the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on June 9th and was fined $3,000 each or six months’ hard labour in default of payment.
