Tobago Police Probe Shooting Scare, Homicide & Drowning

Police in Tobago were kept busy on Sunday, as they responded to several incidents across the island.

Around 10am, officers received reports of loud explosions at the Store Bay Beach Facility.

On arrival, they observed a man running along Store Bay Local Road. After a brief chase back toward the facility, the man was arrested. A search revealed he was carrying a pistol, but no ammunition. He told police his name was Roger Alexander and is believed to be of Spanish descent.

In a separate incident, a 64-year-old Bacolet man was found with a gunshot wound to the head. Around noon, neighbours called out to Fanglin Zuo for lunch but got no response. On checking, they discovered him slumped with a head wound and blood on a table and wall.

Later on in the day, police also launched investigations into a reported drowning in the Buccoo Marine Park.
