The Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) marked a significant step towards its 2026 strategic agenda with its 2025 return to the DEMA Show in Orlando from November 11th to 14th. This renewed presence at the world’s largest trade-only event for scuba diving signals TTAL’s continued drive and commitment to position Tobago as a leading dive destination in the Caribbean.
Strengthening Tobago’s Presence in the US Dive Market
The United States remains one of the world’s top source markets for both experienced and recreational divers, making it a key focus for Tobago’s dive strategy. Renowned for its mesmerizing underwater landscapes, abundant marine life, and exhilarating drift dives, Tobago continues to win the hearts of US divers seeking world-class Caribbean experiences.
At the event, TTAL was proudly joined by several local dive partners, including Frontier Divers, Tobago Dive Experience, Undersea Tobago, and the Eco Industrial Development Company of Tobago (E-IDCOT) Limited, representing Manta Lodge and Dive Centre. Together, they delivered a unified and compelling showcase of the operators, innovators, and ambassadors who continue to bring Tobago’s stunning underwater world to life, highlighting the island’s distinct appeal to the US dive market.
With thousands of industry professionals attending each year, the DEMA Show remains a vital platform for destinations looking to strengthen their presence in the US dive market. For Tobago, maintaining a strong presence ensures the island stays top-of-mind among dive operators and industry influencers seeking unforgettable Caribbean dive experiences. The event also provided valuable opportunities to refresh industry partnerships and advance TTAL’s goal of expanding Tobago’s visibility, presence, and competitiveness. Among the many strategic engagements at DEMA 2025 were meetings with leading US dive tour operators Maduro Diving and World Diving, and global marketing agencies PADI Media and Rork Media – each offering promising avenues to elevate Tobago’s reach and reinforce its position as a premier Caribbean dive destination.
Showcasing Tobago’s Beyond Ordinary Dive Experiences
One of the standout moments of the show took place during the From Coral to Cascades: The Tobago Experience seminar, where Ms. Perl Henry, TTAL Marketing Officer, joined forces with Ms. Kari Brown, Travel Specialist at Deep Blue Adventures. Together, they delivered a captivating presentation that showcased the depth, beauty, and diversity of Tobago’s rich underwater landscapes. Brown’s contribution was shaped by her recent visit to the island — one of several targeted familiarization trips hosted by TTAL earlier this year after strong engagement at DEMA 2024.
Reflecting on her experience in Tobago, Brown shared: ” Tobago is absolutely stunning. Every experience makes me feel like I had found homeThe warmth of the people, the untouched natural beauty, and the vast marine life – all left me with a sense of peace. I immediately booked a trip to return and share with my children. I can’t wait for them to share the experience from an island that is always happy!”
Deep Blue Adventures is one of the leading dive operators in the US and has since confirmed additional dive trips to Tobago from 2026 onwards – a clear indicator of the strong partnerships and tangible results emerging from TTAL’s continued strategic efforts.
Continuing Momentum into 2026 and Beyond
TTAL’s return to DEMA underscores a clear message: Tobago’s dive sector is not only ready for global attention – it is strategically poised to thrive. Looking ahead, TTAL will continue preparations to implement its 2026 strategy, with several key initiatives in the pipeline targeting Germany, the United Kingdom and North America in the coming year. These appearances will aim to reach more consumers, media, and travel trade professionals directly, further elevating Tobago’s profile as a top Caribbean dive destination and connecting the island’s operators with international dive enthusiasts. With dedicated partners and a rich natural environment that remains unspoilt, untouched, and full of discovery, Tobago continues to build momentum as a destination where the beyond ordinary awaits beneath the surface.
