Tommy Joseph Honoured At ‘Laugh Till Yuh Belly Buss’ Comedy Show

For decades, comedian Tommy Joseph has made us laugh till we cry with his imaginative storytelling, quick wit and impeccable comedic timing.

On Sunday, he was finally given his flowers, and what better way than at a comedy show?

Mr. Joseph was honoured by comedian Victor St. Louis, better known as Pelf, at the ‘Laugh Till Yuh Belly Buss’ Comedy Show hosted by V Productions at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA).

Staying true to his craft, he injected humour as he referenced a previous hospital stay amidst health challenges.

He told the audience, “I think I must say, people, I am honoured tonight to be honoured, and this is not the only award I get, you know. Before this I was in hospital, I get a next award.”

Pelf reflected on his early days in the calypso fraternity and the guidance he received from Mr. Joseph.

“When I came to Kaiso House as a young man, I didn’t know much about kaiso, but I know about Soca artistes. I know Sparrow, Kitchener and them, but I didn’t know all the other artistes at Kaiso House and Tommy walked me through the vineyard.”

The night was punctuated by applause and waves of laughter as Pelf and fellow comedian Kenneth Supersad took to the stage, delivering sharp, well-timed humour that kept the audience engaged throughout.

They were joined by a strong lineup of performers, including Andrew Friday, Damian Melvin B, Ajay St. Louis, Louis Antoine, Darryl Mendoza, and Kimberly.
