TPP Candidate Niketa Percy Outlines Major Plans for Bon Accord and Crown Point

The Tobago People Party’s candidate for Bon Accord/Crown Point, Niketa Percy, has promised an improved water supply, a Tobago House of Assembly-owned Early Childhood Care and Education Centre, and the re-establishment of the Bon-Accord Trade School for the district.

On Monday, the TPP began its election campaign with its first community meeting in Bon Accord.

In his spirited debut speech, Mr. Percy called on villagers to hold him accountable. Among the plans outlined was a proposal to address the longstanding issue of flooding in the area.

“I am pleased to announce that a crucial drainage project for the Milford Road starting right here in front of us tonight heading straight down to Four Roads in front of Tammy Supermarket is on schedule to kick off early next year. This vital work will finally alleviate the flooding that residents and businesses face on the stretch whenever there is heavy rainfall.”

He said the TPP will ensure relevant collaborations take place and also shared plans for Crown Point, which include completing the Store Bay revitalisation project.

“The refurbishment and revitalisation of the Store Bay Beach Facility is top priority. I am happy to report the conceptual designs have already been completed, and we have successfully carried out meaningful consultation with stakeholders. We are presently finalising the detailed designs to ensure the execution of this renovation project begins without delay, guaranteeing Store Bay remains a vibrant, world-class hub for everyone.”

Among his other promises is a boardwalk and coastal facility for the Swallows Beachfront. As a newcomer to politics, he vowed to communicate with residents, meet their needs, and modernise the district.
