Zwade Alleyne, the Form 5 student of Arima North Secondary School who was shot on Saturday, has tragically passed away.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Education on Thursday, as Minister Dr Michael Dowlath, along with the executive team, extended condolences to the family, friends, classmates, and teammates of Zwade.
On Monday, the Minister expressed concern and condemned the shooting incident which occurred on the night of Saturday, 10 May, in Maloney Gardens. According to police, the 17-year-old student was liming with friends near Building 12 when unidentified individuals opened fire on the group.
The Ministry hailed Zwade as a passionate footballer and a valued member of his community’s football academy.
Support will be given to the Arima North Secondary School community through the Student Support Services Division.
