Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Eli Zakour is taking a grounded and action-oriented approach to reforming public transport in Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister Zakour met with the General Manager of the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) Ltd, Retired Colonel Patrick Gomez, along with members of the Executive Management Team.
The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of PTSC’s current operations, ongoing projects, and long-term strategic goals aimed at improving service delivery, promoting innovation, and enhancing operational sustainability.
Minister Zakour also toured PTSC’s Port of Spain facility. Several key priorities emerging from the discussions included the introduction of an e-ticketing system to streamline fare collection and improve customer convenience; expansion of services to 25 unserved routes with a strong focus on rural connectivity; and enhanced safety and security measures at major transit hubs to boost commuter confidence.
