Trinidad and Tobago Paralympic Community Mourns President

The Trinidad and Tobago Paralympic community is today in mourning following the death of the president of the national committee.

The 59-year-old Sudhir Ramessar passed away on Friday night. His funeral will be held on Sunday in Princes Town.

In its statement, the TTPC expressed deep sadness and extended condolences to Ramessar’s family during this difficult time. The committee also acknowledged the many people mourning his untimely passing, noting that his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to sport touched countless lives.

The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs said Mr. Ramessar was a passionate advocate for para athletes and a tireless champion for inclusion, dignity, and opportunity in sport for persons with disabilities.

In delivering his condolences, Minister Phillip Watts said we should honour Ramessar by lifting every athlete higher, breaking every barrier wider, and ensuring that no talent is ever left on the sidelines.
