Trinidad and Tobago made a strong impression on the global cosplay stage as two nationals earned international recognition at the 2026 World Cosplay Championship in Nagoya, Japan.
The cosplayers Panterona Medorda and teammate Maricia represented Team T&T at the prestigious competition, joining participants from a record 42 countries in a celebration of creativity, costume design and performance.
Their captivating showcase earned them the coveted ‘Best Sound In Performance’ award, marking a proud achievement for Trinidad and Tobago and highlighting the talent within the country’s cosplay community.
The championship, hosted as part of the World Cosplay Summit, featured live performances from cosplayers around the world, with competitors combining elaborate costumes, storytelling and stagecraft to bring their characters to life.
While Team Hong Kong claimed the overall title of world champions, Team T&T’s award-winning performance ensured Trinidad and Tobago’s presence was felt at one of the biggest events in the international cosplay calendar.
