TT Footballers Prep For Guyana

The Senior Men’s National Football Team will continue its preparation for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Guyana from 7pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The Angus Eve-coached team will come up against a familiar foe in Guyana who are coached by T&T national Jamal Shabazz.

Guyana, like their opponents, are using the game as preparation for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in the Concacaf region with the Canada, the United States and Mexico all hosting matches. The tournament has been expanded to 48 teams from a previous 32 with Concacaf getting six places, three of which have been occupied by the host nations.

In head to head match-ups, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana have faced each other 24 times, with tonight’s host winning on 15 occasions, drawing seven and only losing two.

The last match between the two countries ended in a 1-1 draw in March of 2022.
