T&T’s Hockey Women can hold their heads high after achieving this country’s best ever finish at the Pan American Hockey Challenge.
After a 1-0 win over the hosts six days ago, Team TTO, playing in their traditional red kit, was hoping for a second victory over the hosts in Lima.
Instead, it was Peru who went ahead four minutes before the half. Solange Alonso breaking the deadlock from the short corner.
Marina Montes made it 2-0 43 minutes in, redirecting Alonso’s long range drive into the T&T net.
At the final whistle, Peru celebrated the title – their first in four editions. T&T’s women will bring home Silver.
Both teams will feature in the 2022 Pan American Cup, T&T for the fourth time, while Peru will be making their debut.
