T&T Makes History At 2022 World Police and Fire Games

This country made history at the 2022 World Police and Fire Games in Rotterdam on Thursday, after an officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service placed 1st in Karate Kumite category.

Shiva Sookdeo was the sole representative for the TTPS in the sport of Karate and participated in the ‘Kata’ category on Wednesday where he placed 5th, but had all eyes on him on Thursday by capturing the Gold medal in the ‘Kumite’ category the following day.

The ‘Kumite’ Black Belt event involved participants to be over 85 kilogrammes and 30 plus years of age.

Sookdeo was the first police officer from the TTPS to enter into Karate at the Games.
