The Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Sports Association (TTASA) has announced that sixteen-year-old Naomi Garcia has been named as the first senior driver selected by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the FIA Karting “Arrive and Drive” World Cup in Malaysia.
One hundred and eight drivers between the ages of 18 and 19 will compete at the prestigious event, set to run from November 14th to 16th.
Garcia, who is the first T&T national to compete at the event, won the Caribbean Junior Karting Academy Trophy Under-17 title in 2023, and also won the Under-14 title in 2022.
On her selection, TTASA President Ashton Eligon stated that Garcia continues to impress the motorsport fraternity with her dedication and resilience both on and off the track. Eligon went on to state that Garcia has the Association’s full support.
